GBSA is managed by a steering committee composed of prominent individuals of member firms from across the industry. The committee provides overall guidance and direction and sets priorities for the association.

Michael Grifferty - GBSA President
A debt market professional with over 20 years experience, Michael helped found and manages The Gulf Bond and Sukuk Association. Previously, he was a US Department of Treasury advisor for sovereign debt management and market development, working with over forty countries and regional organizations in Europe, Asia, Middle East and Africa. He has also consulted for the International Monetary Fund. Prior to these engagements, Michael was a Senior Vice President at Government Finance Associates, an independent advisor to US state and local governments and public authorities. He has degrees from New York University and Georgetown University in public finance and international relations.
